GSA’s Green Proving Ground program evaluates new sustainable building technologies that could reduce resource consumption and improve building performance.
The program has released details on four new technologies:
- Chromogenic windows that tint automatically based on temperature and brightness.
- Vacuum Insulated Panels that offer more effective insulation within a very slim profile.
- Multi-Staged Indirect Evaporative Coolers that use only a fraction of the energy consumed by mechanical air conditioners.
- Synchronous and Cogged Fan Belts that reduce inefficiencies in ventilation fans caused by belt slippage and bending resistance.
