An Executive Order signed in October last year has prompted GSA to begin issuing new, more secure ‘Chip & PIN’ payment cards.
The Executive Order requires the Government’s payment card programs,(including GSA SmartPay), to adopt the safer technology of Chip & PIN cards.
Over 1 million charge cards are expected to be issued throughout this year.
