Agency Hopes This ‘Wish List’ Will Speed Up Access to New Technology

The Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) new project, called Needipedia, could speed up the procurement process for emerging technology.

End-users may post their specific technology requirements to the site, and companies may propose solutions directly. The site also includes a category to let industry submit innovations.

It can take 6 months or more for an agency to generate a new RFP, but this new platform acts like a generic Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), and is a kind of ’wish list’ for the agency.

The site is one element of the agency’s 2014 Open Innovation Gateway, due to be launched in January.
