The HIRE Vets Medallion Award recognizes businesses that have employed and retained veterans, set up veteran-employee development programs, and offered veteran-specific benefits to improve retention. Awarded companies will be able to use the medallion to market their firm as a veteran-friendly business.
Criteria for recognition vary by level (Platinum or Gold) and employer size (Large, Medium, and Small), but are generally based upon the percentage of new hires that are veterans; the percentage of veteran employees retained for at least 12 months; and the percentage of employees who are veterans;

The Dept. of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) will begin accepting applications for this award in January 2019.
The application fee is $90 for a small business; $190 for a medium business and $495 for a large business
A sample application form is also available for both the Gold and the Platinum levels
