Do You Know the Stories Behind the New Currency Notes?

Our currency is more than paper money and coins—it reveals who we are as a nation. The new $20, $10, and $5 notes will feature people, monuments, and symbols reflecting one our most celebrated values: democracy.

$20 Note – The front will feature the portrait of Harriet Tubman, whose life was dedicated to fighting for liberty. The reverse will depict the White House and an image of President Andrew Jackson.

$10 Note: The front will retain the portrait of Alexander Hamilton. The reverse will honor the heroes of the women’s suffrage movement, including Lucretia Mott,Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Alice Paul

$5 Note:  The front will retain the portrait of President Lincoln. The reverse will honor historic events that occurred at the Lincoln Memorial in service of our democracy, and will feature Martin Luther King, Jr.,Marian Anderson, and Eleanor Roosevelt.
