Feb 11 is “The Day We Fight Back”

Thousands of civil-liberty groups are planning a day of protest next Tuesday, Feb 11th.

The Day We Fight Back organizers plan to post messages on thousands of website, urging readers to voice their opposition to the National Security Agency’s recent spying activities, and to support the Freedom Act, a bill in Congress that aims to restrict the government’s surveillance authority.

Over 4,000 groups are participating, including the American Civil Liberties Union, reddit, Tumblr, Mozilla, DailyKos, and Amnesty International.

The “Freedom Act “would limit the government’s bulk collection of telephone metadata, install a privacy advocate in the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, and demand additional transparency from the NSA.
