GSA Plans New IT Contracts This Spring.

GSA currently has several Government-Wide Acquisition Contract vehicles (GWACS), specifically for IT services, and expects to begin issuing new RFPs and Requests for Information for these vehicles in the next month or so.

Allliant-2 and Alliant SB-2

The Alliant GWAC offers agencies access to customized IT solutions from a large pool of industry partners. In its first four years, 46 federal agencies have awarded over $13.2 billion on Alliant. Draft RFPs for Alliant 2, one for small business and the other full-and-open, should be released soon. The current Alliant contract includes over 100 companies. An Industry meeting is scheduled for March.

VETS-2

The VETS GWAC for IT services is exclusively for service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses. A Request for Information notice for VETS-2 should be out sometime in March. Last year, agencies spent almost $160 million on services via the contract.

8(a) STARS-2

GSA has announced plans to hold an open season for the8(a) STARS II GWAC. The RFP should be issued this spring, and GSA expects to bring on about 250 new vendors. Agencies spent more than $1.3 billion against the STARS II program in 2014.
