Micro-Purchase Threshold Increase Could Benefit Small Businesses

Last month, President Trump signed the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the rules that determine how the federal government purchases commercial item.

The Micro-Purchase Threshold has increased for civilian agencies from $3,000 to $10,000.   Purchases below this threshold do not require competition.

For purchases between $10,000 and $250,000, (the Simplified Acquisition threshold) there is a requirement for competition, but it’s simplified.
