SBA Increases Some Small Business Size Standards

Effective August 17, the SBA will be increasing many of the standards they use to determine if a business is considered ‘Small’ for federal contracting opportunities.

Some businesses currently considered “other than small” could be re-classified as a Small Business.

The increase only affects industries where size is determined by annual revenue, not those measured by the number of employees.

Any business affected by this change must update their registration in the System for Awards Management (SAM).

Current GSA contract holders may need to submit a Modification request, if they are affected by the changes.
