The Harm that Jargon Can Do

According to a recent article in Defense One, the Dept of Defense admits that its failure to explain why military budget cuts are a threat to national security is due in part to poor communication skills, including using overly dramatic language and “Pentagon-speak” buzzwords.

The department said that the cuts would harm military “readiness,” but without explaining the term. “We aren’t communicating” said acting Deputy Defense Secretary Christine Fox.

Could this be a lesson for us all……?
