When the System for Award Management (SAM) was hacked earlier this year, GSA took a number of steps to increase security, including the requirement for a signed notarized letter, identifying your company’s Authorized Administrator.
To further increase security and deter fraud, SAM will be implementing multi-factor authentication for registered SAM.gov users at the end of this month.
Effective June 29, 2018, when you login to SAM.gov, you’ll be asked to create a Login.gov user account. Your current SAM.gov username and password will no longer work.
Take these steps now:
- know the email address associated with your SAM.gov username and password
- have access to that email, so you can receive a confirmation email from Login.gov
- have a cell phone or landline to receive a security code from Login.gov.
