Agencies Are Looking for Small Businesses

Every federal agency has a Small Business Utilization Office (OSBU) that reaches out to small businesses.

In FedBizOpps, search for terms like ‘Industry Day’, ‘Vendor Day’, ‘Open House’ or ‘Acquisition Forecast’.

Check out the ‘Vendor Collaboration” and “Small Business Events” tabs, on the homepage of FedBizOpps. The ‘Events’ tab can also be filtered by state or NAICS code.

For example:

The upcoming FAA’s Small Business Vendor Day in Renton WA is particularly tailored to small construction firms & related trades, as well as metal buildings, electrical equipment, and facilities support such as janitorial and landscaping services

The US Special Operations Command Center in Tampa FL will be holding regular, monthly “Office Hours” where small businesses can meet one-on-one with Government representatives. The agency’s OSBU office states that “This office should be one of a small business’ first contacts when initiating communication with USSOCOM…..and is your conduit to present marketing capabilities”

At next month’s Acquisition Forecast Open House in El Paso TX, representatives from Fort Bliss, TX and White Sands Missile Range, NM will provide details of forecast opportunities for 2016.

This Dept. Agriculture website has contact details for a number of federal agency Small Business offices, including DoD, Air Force, Army, Navy, Education, Commerce, DHHS, HUD, Interior, Justice, Transportation, Labor, Treasury, VA, EPA, FEMA, Homeland Security and more
