Could it Become Easier for New IT Companies to Gain a GSA Contract?

If you submit a GSA Schedule proposal, your company must have been in business for at least 2 years in order to be eligible for an award.

GSA recently released a Request for Information, asking current and prospective new IT companies and federal agency buyers to let them know about the barriers that prevent new, innovative IT companies from receiving a GSA contract, or from gaining contracts once awarded.

One suggestion is that a description of a company’s experience, together with documentation to show financial responsibility, could substitute for the two years of corporate experience.

“By making it easier for suppliers to work with us, we will offer government as a whole better access to innovative companies, enhanced technology solutions, and a wider range of contracting options,” said GSA Administrator Denise Turner Roth blog.
