Hackers Target Home & Office Routers – Announcement from the FBI

On May 25th the FBI issued a Public Service Announcement, recommending that anyone with a small office or home office router reboot their devices. Foreign hackers have compromised hundreds of thousands of home and office routers and other networked devices worldwide, using malware that can make small office and home office routers inoperable.

The FBI recommends any owner of small office and home office routers reboot the devices to temporarily disrupt the malware and identify any infected devices. Owners should also consider disabling remote management settings on devices, and use strong passwords and encryption. Network devices should be upgraded to the latest available versions of firmware.
