What are Non-Appropriated Funds?

Non-Appropriated Funds come from sources other than congressional appropriations. The funds mostly come from the sale of goods and services to military and civilian personnel and their family members, and are used to support or provide Morale, Welfare, and Recreation programs.

Non-appropriated fund customers include commissaries, exchanges, recreation and fitness centers, dining at officer/enlisted/civilian clubs, and barber/beauty services.
